From Standards to Certification

Every Travel Unity certification is built on our Inclusion Standards, which help define the knowledge and skills of each certification.

Whether you’re building your own expertise or strengthening your organization, our certification programs provide practical tools, measurable progress, and meaningful recognition.

We have three levels of individual certifications.

TUIC

The Travel Unity Individual Certificate (TUIC) is our baseline certificate, introducing the travel industry and inclusion in travel.

It was an absolute honor to be a part of TUIC!

It was an excellent start for us to be more aware, considerate, and welcoming to all. I particularly enjoyed the live session and discussing the questions presented to us in the chat rooms. It’s always fascinating to hear others’ perspectives on the material or questions, as it helps us to open our minds to other aspects as it relates to someone else. It can only broaden our horizons and help us to be welcoming to all.

TDP

The Travel DEI Practitioner (TDP) program offers manager-level participants oppportunities to incorporate inclusion into their workflow.

“I couldn’t recommend Travel Unity more highly. The [TDP] coaches provide an incredible learning platform and a safe space that expanded my personal knowledge, as well as enabled greater commitment to personal and business action to create a safer workplace where every team member and every stakeholder feels welcome.“

“Thank you for facilitation and pushing us out of our comfort zones. DEI topics can be very tricky, sensitive and difficult and your approach is very manageable and welcoming.”

“I would definitely recommend this program, not only to learn about various DEI concepts, but also to listen to what other DMOs are doing as it relates to DEI policies and procedures.“

CDTP

The Certified DEI Travel Professional (CDTP) program provides organizational leaders with holistic tools to craft a comprehensive DEI plan for a travel industry organization.

CDTP was an awesome experience and I’m so happy I was able to participate. I haven’t learned all the answers but I now understand the questions. Wish my whole team could participate.

We have four levels of organizational certification.

Certified by Travel Unity (CBTU)

CBTU is the travel industry’s only certification program that validates travel industry organizations’ alignment with inclusive practices.

Certified by Travel Unity (CBTU) provides external validation that an organization aligns with Travel Unity’s Inclusion Standards.

CBTU Level One establishes a baseline, identifying where an organization already aligns with the standards, where there is room to grow, and how leadership is committing to the journey.

From there, organizations can continue through additional levels focused on workforce, community, partners, supply chain, and traveler experiences.

We encourage any organization that welcomes visitors to participate in this certification program, including, but not limited to:

  • Attractions
  • Accommodations, including hotels and resorts
  • Destination Organizations
  • Museums
  • Tour Companies
